Q:  How do I join the KGA?
A:  Click on the membership tab then click on the “join today” link. Or you can click on the “join today” link from the home page. This will direct you to the online form. Complete the online form in its entirety. Once you have completed the online form you will be prompted to pay the membership fee. Once you have paid the membership fee and your Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity membership has been confirmed with Grand Chapter you will receive your membership packet.

Q:  How much is an individual membership?
A:  Individual memberships are $50 for new members and $40 for renewal memberships.

Q:  How much is a chapter membership?
A:  A chapter membership is $100 annually. This covers the chapter’s web site maintenance, club administration & governance documents, and tournament planning tools & software.

Q:  How long is the membership term?
A:  Memberships are from January 1 st through December 31 st. Any membership that is purchased at any point during the year will not be prorated and is good for the calendar year in which the membership was purchased.

Q:  How do I start a chapter?
A:  To start a chapter you need to have 10 paid individuals from your geographic / regional location. Furthermore, a chapter membership fee of $100 must also be paid. Finally, you will need to submit the names of the officers of the chapter (president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, tournaments, & handicaps).

Q:  What does a chapter packet include?
A:  A chapter packet will include standard by-laws, chapter charter certificate, chapter web page on the main KAPsiGolf.org web site, online tournament software tool, USGA handicapping, & voting rights during annual meeting. Furthermore, each chapter will be officially, registered with the USGA.

Q:  What do I receive with an individual membership?
A:  Individual membership fees pay for the following; membership certificate, USGA handicapping, USGA membership, membership package, discounts for merchandise, invitation to the annual golf retreat, and an invitation & a discount to the annual golf championship.

Q:  Do I have to be part of a chapter to join?
A:  No. Individual memberships are completely acceptable. However, we do encourage chartering a chapter or joining a chapter since this will provide each person a better opportunity to fellowship and play golf with our Kappa Brothers.

Q:  Do I have to be a member of the golf association to attend the annual retreat?
A:  No!. All members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., are welcome to join us on the retreat. However, members of the association will receive discounts and gifts for attending the retreat.

Q:  Do I have to be a member of the golf association to play in the championship tournament?
A:  No. All members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. are welcome to participate in the tournament. However, members of the golf association will receive discounts for the tournament and only members of the association will receive prizes based on their performance.

Q:  Can I purchase a membership for a friend, relative, or spouse?
A:  Yes! You can purchase a membership as a gift for any member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. However, part of the membership process you are required to submit each applicant’s membership number for Kappa Alpha Psi. If you have this information or access to this information you will be able to purchase a membership as a gift.

Q:  Is this association sponsored / endorsed by the Grand Board of Kappa Alpha Psi?
A:  No! The Golf association is sponsored and endorsed by the Sacramento Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc and is therefore in accordance with the Constitution & Statutes of the Fraternity. However, we are working with Brother Snow & Brother Thomas to receive official and formal endorsememt.

Q:  Will there be a junior association for the sons & daughters of members?
A:  Yes! We are currently designing and planning for a junior association that is linked to the KGA. Please check back in the future for updates and specific policies and procedures.

Q:  Does my membership in KGA include a membership in the USGA?
A:  Yes! Your annual membership dues for KGA will include an annual membership in the USGA.

Q:  Is the handicapping method approved by the USGA?
A:  Yes! We use a software tool that utilizes the USGA handicapping formula.

Q:  How frequently will I receive an updated handicap card?
A:  All updates will be sent on a quarterly basis. Furthermore, your information can also be accessed via the web site interface.

Q:  Where can I post my scores?
A:  You can post your score for purpose of handicapping utilizing any computer that has internet access. You will be able to enter your information in on the web site.

Q:  How detailed is the handicapping software?
A:  You can enter your information in total (score & slope) or you can track your information by shot and enter each stroke of your round to track your golfing statistics.
